a relaxing start

Everything about the schooner is relaxed, and that includes the boarding process. As you arrive at the town dock, you may be able to pick out our flag amongst the masts. There will be a crew member on board to greet you and help you with your bags as you come down the dock. You may board anytime after 6 pm, and after a brief tour of the boat, you will be free to come and go as you like. Grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants in town, have a drink at a seaside pub, or just lounge on deck and chat with your fellow passengers.

The next morning, we will serve breakfast on board. You’ll have time to take a short walk and grab any last minute essentials, and then we’ll be off!

Gourmet meals, three times a day

For the duration of the trip, you will be treated to three meals a day, using locally sourced ingredients expertly prepared by our chef in the ship’s galley. The day may start with buttermilk scones, blueberry pancakes, bacon, and fresh fruit, followed by a hearty soup and fresh salad for lunch, with southern comfort ribs, mac and cheese, and coleslaw for dessert. The menu changes daily, so you will never be bored or go hungry.

We accommodate all dietary restrictions to the best of our ability, so please let us know if you have any allergies or sensitivities!

every day begins with a view

On the Firefly we invite you to relax and take in the sights. Underway, we are subject to the wind and tide, and there is no itinerary. By day, we sail along Maine’s pristine coast, and by night we anchor in secluded coves to enjoy a good night’s rest.

While sailing, many of our guests enjoy reading a book on deck, spotting wildlife, learning the fundamentals of sailing and navigation, taking pictures, knitting or drawing, journaling, fishing, and sunbathing. There are frequent opportunities to go ashore to stretch your legs and explore. In the evening, you may opt for a refreshing swim or a sunset row.

Every trip features a traditional New England lobster bake– a highlight of the trip. Our lobsters come straight from a local lobsterman. At some point during the trip, we find a suitable beach on one of Maine’s many gorgeous islands and row ashore for bake.

Every cruise is unique! We never sail the same route twice. There are over 2,000 islands in our cruising grounds, replete with scenic thoroughfares, classic New England fishing villages, gorgeous sunsets, and stunning wildlife.

Whether you choose June’s dramatic fog, breezy July, sunny August, or September’s crisp evenings and fall foliage, you are sure to enjoy yourself.

Memories that last forever

The last morning of the cruise is often bittersweet. After enjoying a final breakfast, we set sail for Camden, usually reaching the docks by 11 am.
